At transformational time for the organization, former CBS Interactive SVP to guide overall strategic direction, advance member initiatives and elevate voice on pressing matters in digital publishing

New York, NY (May 12, 2014) – The Online Publishers Association (OPA) today announces the hire of CEO Jason Kint, who will be based in D.C. Kint will start on May 27, taking over responsibilities from Pam Horan, president since 2006. Horan will end her 10-year tenure at the Association on May 30. Kint comes to the OPA most recently from CBS Interactive where he was senior vice president and general manager of its Sports division. The announcement was made by OPA Executive Chairman and Managing Director of FT.com Rob Grimshaw.

"As the OPA moves into an exciting new phase, Jason’s decades of experience leading digital initiatives for some of the biggest brands in publishing will be instrumental to our continued development,” said Grimshaw. “We welcome his leadership and vision, and are excited to work with him to take the OPA into the next decade with new initiatives, a strong membership and strategy for growth.”

Kint will lead the OPA at a transformational time as the Association builds on its 13-year-history of fueling the growth and vitality of its membership comprised of more than 65 high-quality digital news, information and entertainment brands such as The New York Times, ESPN, USA Today, Condé Nast, and WebMD (full member list here). He will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the organization, as well as representing member brands to marketers, press and policy makers. In this role he will work closely with member companies and the OPA Board comprised of 38 leading digital media executives.

"The OPA exists as the one trade association to serve the unique and diverse needs of high-quality digital publishers who manage trusted, direct relationships with consumers and marketers." said Kint. “I’m honored to be stepping into this new role, especially as the OPA continues to guide the industry on issues ranging from net neutrality to revenue innovation to privacy.”
