Online Publishers Association Announces 2004 Eyes on the Internet Tour Dates

Trade Group to Present Qualitative and Quantitative Studies of Media Use by 18 to 34 Year-Old Consumers to Advertising, Marketing and Publishing Communities in Eight-City Tour

NEW YORK, NY -- April 1, 2004 -- The Online Publishers Association (OPA) announced today the schedule and program for Eyes on the Internet 2004, an eight-city tour designed to update executives in the advertising, marketing and publishing communities on the most recent research and trends in online media and marketing.

Coming off a highly successful inaugural eight-city tour last spring, the OPA is taking to the road again. This year's program will feature an unparalleled look at a series of new OPA research into the media habits and behaviors of the elusive 18 to 34 year old consumer. It will also include examples and case studies of high-quality video programming and advertising online, in order to demonstrate that the Internet is becoming an important platform for delivering video to consumers.

"The primary goal of the Eyes on the Internet tour is to help industry executives make sense of the rapidly evolving media landscape and to emphasize the progress that the online medium has made in its short history," said Michael Zimbalist, president of the Online Publishers Association. "In recent months, we have witnessed a growing debate about how to reach highly sought after 18 to 34 year-olds. On this tour we intend to bring new insights to this debate fueled by our extended qualitative and quantitative research on the topic -- research that clearly shows the centrality of the Web in the lives of this crucial demographic group. We'll also have a chance to reflect on the successes that our Industry has achieved during the past year, as the inevitable march of broadband access has continued to open new creative opportunities online for programmers and advertisers alike."

Beginning in Boston on April 22, the OPA will host a breakfast event in each city and hold private briefings with individual marketers and agencies who would like a special in-depth presentation for their media planning, creative and research staffs.
